Straightening your teeth has never been simpler, thanks to Invisalign®.

Offering an inconspicuous way to correct problems like crowded teeth, misaligned teeth and widely spaced teeth, Invisalign® aligners are ideal for patients looking for discreet treatment. Each removable aligner is custom created and bracket and wire-free, making them a great alternative to traditional fixed braces.

Invisalign®: the process

The first step is to gather the relevant clinical information that will enable the Invisalign® lab to create your very own Invisalign® aligners. This involves taking 3D digital photos and digital scans using the dedicated cutting-edge iTero scanner we have here at Crown Bank Dental. This scanner is able to map out your treatment and project the outcome. Once your aligners have been created, you can start wearing them at home and changing them every week. We’ll request that you come in to see us for check-ups and once treatment is complete, you will need to wear a retainer to make sure your teeth don’t fall back into their old position. Our dentists are highly trained at providing Invisalign® treatment.

What are the benefits of Invisalign® treatment?

  • Discreet treatment that keeps your teeth looking good throughout.
  • Comfortable aligners that are easy to acclimatise to.
  • No disruptions to your normal oral hygiene and dietary habits as the aligners can be removed.
  • Highly predictable outcomes thanks to state-of-the-art digital planning software.
  • Take a look at how your teeth will look after treatment before you start wearing the aligners, with ClinCheck technology.

Does it hurt?

You might take a couple of days to acclimatise to each aligner as you change them over, though this won’t cause you any discomfort. Invisalign® gently guides your teeth in the desired position, and as there’re no brackets and wires you won’t experience any accidental scratching

Who is Invisalign® treatment for?

Invisalign® treatment is suited to adult patients of all ages, as long as they aren’t suffering from underlying dental or gum-related problems. It can be used to treat crowding, spacing and alignment problems ranging from minor to severe. Patients with significant bite problems are likely to be more suited to a fixed brace, which can address a more diverse range of serious orthodontic problems.

How long will treatment take?

This will depend on factors including the type of orthodontic ailment being addressed and how often you wear your aligners. The average treatment time with Invisalign® is between 6-18 months. For best results, you should be wearing your aligners for 22 hours a day and removing them only to eat, drink, brush and floss. Failing to be regimental with wearing your aligners is likely to prolong your treatment.

Why should I straighten my teeth?

Having a straighter smile makes it easier to brush and floss, leading to better oral hygiene and dental health. Straightening the front teeth can also help reduce the amount of wearing down and chipping of your front teeth over time. The effects of treatment can also work wonders for your confidence levels – many patients find they’re more eager to smile day-to-day, particularly around other people. Last and certainly not least, your smile will look great.
